It cures (hardens) in the absence of air between closely fitting metal threads.
Designed for permanent locking — once applied, it gives a very robust bond.
It works on a wide range of metals, including passive substrates like stainless steel and aluminium.
It tolerates minor oil contamination (e.g. industrial / engine oils) on the threads.
Disassembly: to undo joints bonded with 270, you generally need heat — up to ~300 °C.
It has NSF P1 registration.
Colour: Green.
Viscosity: Low viscosity (so it can flow into threads reasonably well).
Service Temperature Range: –55 °C to +180 °C
Max Thread Size: Up to ~M20
Fixture Time: According to one supplier’s spec sheet, ~10 minutes for steel.
